Going There: A Matter of Life and Death

Suicide prevention and awareness are important conversations year-round.

On Friday, October 16, KWBU will air a special episode of NPR’s Going There focused on suicide prevention and awareness at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

Suicide can be a difficult subject to talk about. But open, informed conversations can help reduce stigma, encourage people to reach out for support, and remind us that help is available.

Help is available

If you or someone you know is struggling, you don't have to face it alone.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Call or text 988 to connect with a trained crisis counselor.

For immediate danger or an emergency, call 911.

Listen to Going There Friday, October 16, at 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. on KWBU.
